Coffee break

Think you could
squeegee it out?

Air gets trapped under fresh film and someone has to work it out, one bubble at a time. Here is that job as an arcade game — and it is harder than the installers make it look.

Squeegee

Drag on the board, or use the arrow keys. Chain bubbles without touching the squeegee and the combo multiplies — which is roughly the difference between a tidy install and a fast one.

Why bubbles

The bubbles are the whole job.

Film goes on wet. The installer floats it into place on a slip solution, then works every drop of it out from under the sheet with a squeegee, edge to edge, before the adhesive grabs. Miss one and it stays there — a silver blister in your back window that will not go away on its own.

That is most of what you are paying for, and it is why a branch install takes two to three hours on a sedan rather than twenty minutes. The film matters too: every Zivent tier comes in the whole range of shades, so you pick the look and the film separately.
