Where the numbers come from
The model takes the solar energy that lands on vertical glass over an Auckland cooling season for the direction you chose, reduces it by how much your existing glass already blocks, then applies the film's measured total solar energy rejection (TSER, ISO 9050). What remains is heat your cooling no longer has to remove — converted to electricity through a typical heat-pump efficiency and priced at current NZ rates, with power prices escalating 3% a year.
