Gloss you can see
The coating is what gives a freshly finished panel its depth. High gloss is the effect the product is built around, not a side benefit of it.
Swirl marks and micro-scratches
The fine web of marks a wash mitt leaves over years. The membrane takes that wear instead of the clear coat underneath.
Water leaves, dirt struggles
Water sheets off a coated panel rather than sitting on it, and dirt has less to key into. Washing gets quicker, which is the part owners actually notice.
UV, pollutants, chemicals
A barrier between your paint and what lands on it — sun, road film, fallout and the things used to clean them off.
