The windscreen and the factory-dark glass roof are not tintable, so they have no sliders. The dark upper half of the rear screen is the factory state; film layers over it. Clear glass is the car with no film on it: the before shot.
Drag to turn your head and look out either window. The 3D model is a left-hand-drive car, so the dashboard sits on the other side from a New Zealand one. The glass shade and what you can see through it are the same either way.
No colour matches that.
Pick the film first. Style is the one that changes the colour: 26 shades, black included. Everything else is clear and keeps the paint you already have: Fit and Premium stay glossy, Desert and Ghost turn it satin. Set your own paint colour lower down, so you can see what the clear films will look like on it. Sky is a glass-roof film, so it changes the roof and leaves the paint alone.
Screen colour is indicative. This is a real-time render and every monitor shows colour differently: a film can look warmer, deeper or more metallic in daylight. Ask your branch for a physical swatch before you commit.
A passenger car keeps 35% front and rear
Class MA is every car built to carry people rather than goods, and it keeps the 35% VLT floor on the front and the rear side windows. The exemption behind the driver is the ute's, and it does not apply here. The roof is not part of that rule at all: a glass roof, a panoramic roof or a plain sunroof can take a film whatever the side glass is doing, which is what TrackDay Sky is for. An SUV is not automatically class MA. A big 4x4 (a Land Cruiser, a Wrangler) is often class MC instead, and the rule is written around the class on your plate. If it matters to your build, confirm yours with NZTA. Your branch checks the plate before it quotes either way.
Class MA covers hatchbacks, sedans, wagons and people-movers: cars built to carry people rather than goods. SUVs and 4x4s are passenger vehicles too, but they can be class MC rather than MA, which is worth knowing before you order. Either way they are not class NA, so the rear side glass keeps the 35% floor: an Everest does, even though the Ranger it shares a chassis with does not. Petrol, hybrid or electric makes no difference.
Every ute sold in New Zealand tints the same way
The simulator shows a Ford F-150 Raptor, but the rule it demonstrates is not about the badge. A ute is a class NA vehicle, so only the front side windows keep the 35% VLT floor. Behind the driver you can go as dark as you like, right down to 5%. Slide the rear zone on the Raptor and watch the readout stay legal where a Model 3's would not.
A ute is class NA only if it is built as a goods vehicle. A wagon or SUV on a ute platform (a Fortuner, an Everest, an MU-X, a Pajero Sport) is a passenger vehicle, class MA or MC rather than NA, and keeps the 35% floor on the rear side glass too. If you are not sure which yours is, your branch will check the plate before it quotes.
