Boats get damaged in different places
A car gets hit head-on by stones. A boat gets rubbed by docks, scraped on the trailer, and sits in salt and UV all summer. The wear areas are completely different, so the coverage is too.
Salt and UV
Gelcoat fades and chalks under constant sun and salt. A clear film takes that exposure instead of the finish underneath.
Dock rash
Ropes, fenders, pilings and people boarding. Film absorbs the light scuffs that otherwise build up along the gunwale and hull sides.
Trailer contact
Loading and launching drags the hull across bunks and rollers. Those rub zones mark faster than anything else on the boat.

Will it change how the gelcoat looks?
No. The film is clear, so the original finish stays visible. It reads as a slightly glossier surface, not a covered one.
How is this priced?
Every boat is a different shape, so marine work is quoted per vessel rather than from a package list. Send photos and the make and length with your enquiry and we can usually price it from that.
Does it help with cleaning?
Yes. A sealed film surface is easier to wash down and holds less salt residue than open gelcoat, so the boat stays looking clean for longer between washes.
Can it come off later?
Yes, and that is the point — the gelcoat underneath is preserved, which matters at resale or trade-in.
