Knees, boots,
tank bags.
Clear paint protection for motorcycles. Most of the damage on a bike is not from the road — it is from the rider getting on and off it.
The rider does most of the damage
Cars get hit by things they drive past. A bike gets scuffed by the person riding it — knees on the tank, boots on the panels, a tank bag rubbing in the same spot every trip.
Tank contact
Knees and jacket zips sit against the tank sides for every kilometre you ride. That is where the finish goes dull first.
Gear and luggage
Boots, panniers and tank bags scuff the panels they touch. Film gives those spots a layer to wear through instead of the paint.
Bugs and chips
Fairings and the headlight take everything the front of a car would, with nothing in front of them.
Where to start on a bike
A bike is a short list. Cover the tank and the panels your gear touches, then decide whether the fairings are worth adding.
Tank and the panels your gear touches
- Fuel tank and tank sides
- Pannier and luggage contact zones
- Frame contact points
- Tail section and side panels
Fairings and the front
- Front fairing
- Side fairings
- Headlight
Motorbike PPF questions
Which film. TrackDay Fit is the standard here too — 7.4 mil clear gloss, so the paint reads as it did. Premium heals in about three seconds with no heat, which suits boot and zip scuffs; ask for it on the quote. All six TrackDay films →
Will the film show on the paint?
It is a clear gloss film, so the colour and depth stay as they were. On a metallic or candy finish that matters, which is why bikes get the clear films rather than the satin ones.
Which film goes on a bike?
TrackDay Premium in most cases — it self-heals in about three seconds without heat, so the light scuffs from a boot or a zip close up on their own. TrackDay Fit needs warmth to heal, which is less useful on a bike.
Can it be fitted to a curved fairing?
Yes. Fairings are cut and fitted by hand rather than from a pattern, which is part of why a bike is quoted individually.
How is it priced?
Per bike. Send the make, model and which areas you want covered — tank only is a common starting point and costs far less than a full set of panels.
Same film, a different shape
If one of these is yours as well, the film is the same — only the pattern changes. Each is quoted per vehicle.
